The Full Review
Lone Star is where you go when you want real tacos, not 2am survival tacos. The Allston location is the original and has the best vibe - wood-paneled walls, neon signs, and a bar that takes its margaritas VERY seriously.
The birria tacos are THE move. These braised beef tacos with consommé for dipping sell out regularly, so get them early. The regular menu is mostly gluten-free and always solid - the carnitas and fish tacos are reliable favorites.
The frozen margaritas are dangerously good. They taste like juice but hit like tequila. Pace yourself, especially if you still have homework. I've seen many a confident student get absolutely wrecked by margarita #3.
This is a slight trek from central campus - you'll probably take the B line to Harvard Ave - but it's worth it for a nicer meal. Weekend brunch is excellent if you can handle the wait.
