How We Create Content

Guide to BU content is created through an alumni-led, experience-driven approach. Our process combines:

  • 1Lived experience: Direct knowledge from attending BU, living in the dorms, eating at the dining halls, and navigating campus life firsthand.
  • 2Ongoing engagement: Continued involvement with BU programs, events, and community keeps our perspective current.
  • 3Student input: Reviews, feedback, and questions from current students and prospective families shape our content priorities.
  • 4Official sources: We reference BU's official resources for factual information like dates, policies, and requirements, while adding practical context.

Accuracy Standards

We strive for accuracy in all content, distinguishing between:

Factual Information

Dates, costs, requirements, and policies are verified against official BU sources when possible.

Opinions & Recommendations

Subjective assessments (like dorm rankings) are clearly labeled and based on stated criteria.

Update Cadence

  • Seasonal reviews: Housing, dining, and admissions content is reviewed before key decision periods.
  • Annual updates: All major guides are reviewed at least once per academic year.
  • Immediate corrections: Factual errors are corrected as soon as they're identified.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you find an error in our content:

To report an error: Use the feedback form on any page or email us with the specific URL and correction needed.

When we make corrections:

  • • Minor typos and clarifications are fixed without notation
  • • Significant factual corrections include an update note
  • • Major changes to recommendations are explained with context

What We Don't Do

  • We do not accept payment for reviews or rankings
  • We do not claim to represent Boston University's official positions
  • We do not provide admissions consulting or guaranteed outcomes
  • We do not publish unverified rumors or speculation
